So I played Far Cry: New Dawn almost directly after I completed Far Cry 5, I was a little late to the game. And after completing FC5 I was very eager and excited to jump into FC:ND because so far in the Far Cry series its the only direct sequel to another game in the series. FC:ND takes place about 10 years after the events of FC5, in an almost post apocalyptic era, but it still remains in the same area as FC5 and it even has a few returning characters. I love being able to visit some of the landmarks and buildings in FC:ND that have been aged and destroyed since FC5 its got a sort of nostalgic vibe, and I like the bright pink colors added to the game just to make the world a bit more vibrant and to give the game its own feel from FC5.
That said, I was highly disappointed in the game it was just not that exciting to me, the story was kinda boring and cheesy, I didn't really care for the weapons, and i was just highly disappointed in the number of characters you could find especially the animal ones.
I would recommend renting the game from Gamefly if your curious to play the game or want to find out what happened after the events of FC5. I wouldn't recommend buying it unless you're just a huge Far Cry fan and want to add the game to your collection. I give this game a 5/10 for the beautiful map and it did have some fun moments. but all in all i feel like it was a let down for the Far Cry series.
Lazygamer Score: 5/10.
